The first story is set below street level. The family dining room, kitchen, pantry and servants room were placed on this floor. The second floor was the principal floor of the home. There were parlors, dining room, library and butlers pantry. The top floor had five bedrooms and a bathing room. Wide halls extended the length of each floor and a stairway joined the parlor and bedroom floors.…
A tan carpet covers the floor and runs the length of the room, which has black plastic moldings that connect the floor to the wall. The walls in the office are painted green with a decorative tan border that runs along the bottom edges and doorframes of the walls. In the room, a piece of the wall has been removed to provide an example of the building’s layout that shows a brick interior that is covered by wood and plaster covering. The brick indicates the room’s addition onto the structure. This removed section also provides fire marshals with information on the structure’s interior layout when conducting annual fire code inspections. White wooden frames surround the doors, which are comprised of fascia moldings. One doorway connects to the entrance hall while the other leads into the dining room. Two white wooden framed windows in the office feature fascia molding. The smooth white plaster ceiling runs the length of the room and contains a smoke detector above the doorway leading into the hallway. A fireplace positioned on the eastern wall of the room contains a black stone hearth. A golden metal grate sits in front of the firebox opening. Attached to the hearth is the cheek, which connects to the firebox opening’s black brick interior. The white plaster fireplace and mantel, with matching fascia molding, is symmetrical to the molding featured in the…

I chose to create a small art gallery to emphasize on the significance and symbolism of the subject of my space. “Stairs” by Rachel Whiteread was created in 2001 as one of the subject lines in her exhibit of a house called “ghost”. Thus, defining the idea of distance from reality, confusion, the upside down world, plainness, as well as, the psychological aspect that, plays tricks to the naked eye. The purpose of the sculpture is to make you question life with the variety of directional features in the sculpture. The design of my space has been created with an integration of themes by the selected geometric exterior walls and smooth texture. I created the exterior in such way resembles the shape of the stairs. The element…
The house is divided into two wings, keeping the public areas toward the street and the service areas near the innermost sections of the house. The floor composition is based on two adjacent horizontal bars that are mixed in a central space which are anchored by the vertical column of the fireplace. The space is divided into two areas, the living and dining areas separated by fireplace, but wisely connected. On both ends of this space the two long galleries form triangular areas that are more intimate for relaxing and dinning. And the bedroom is at the second level.…
The most impressive part of the design is in its dome, where the complex corners and curves of the plan are pulled upwards like a tent. Standing at the center of the church and looking upwards, it’s beautiful shape is revealed, and the pronounced entablature makes the visitor want to flow around the space, following its shape. The dome is filled with natural light, which elevates the space into a spiritual…
They were originally placed on the two sides of the hall to let the light go through. Their height are 7 feet, 3-1/4 inches, and width are 3 feet. 1-1/4inches. Made by Layers of translucent glass, opalescent white glass, a cascade of irregular pebble-like bits, and a molded blue flower are some of the innovative methods and materials used to create this decorative and painterly window. The layered glass at the top of the window suggested a distant blue sky. Opaque and deep green glass creates a darkened area that is…
In 1856-1886 the original Tabaret Hall was created by Rector J.-É. Émery, and was given its name in honour of Father Joseph-Henri Tabaret. In later years this building went up in flames and was completely destroyed; nothing left but the ruins. Although this was such a tragedy, also with the death of three people, the reconstruction did not take long to start up. The new building was built in many different stages but Tabaret Hall officially re-opened on May 1st, 1905, and was newly designed by an architect named A. Von Herbulis. In the process of Herbulis’ design, he chose to use re-enforced concrete because it was known for its fire resistance. As well the design and features for the new Tabaret Hall was based…

In this artwork has s and rails coming for different directions, and faceless people walking up and down these twisted stairs. Some of these people are carrying things, for example one is carrying a candle another is carrying a sack. There is a family sitting down for a meal. Lastly there are bars on the wall, doors, flowers, and trees.…
The sculpture by the entrance is very abstract. It looks like a big metal coin but is distorted in the middle. Going into the building, there are a lot of art works inside. One of the interesting things is that the main lighting supply…

She looks away pensively while the window offers a view of the interiors. The overwhelming movement suggested by compositional diagonals of the stairs is counter-balanced by the stability of the window bars as well as the rectangular shape of the bricks. Moreover, the window also reflects the real world; like the girl’s thoughts and memories, the reflections are impressions of the reality, and it is interesting how the shapes in the reflection are organic, transparent and quite abstract. Additionally, the dynamicity of the colors that appears very settled and gentle on the human figure release the active movement of the staircase from stay trapped inside the window frame. The walls inside the building, window frame, and the girl’s hair contains yellow hue. Blue is the reflection in the window and the light on the skin. The brick texture on the façade and lips has red, and black appears on the dress and the staircase. Hence, the relationship among colors convey visual unity to the work and leads the viewer’s eyes to travel all around the…
I have always been a fan of minimalism, courtesy Mies Van Der Rohe, and I have a thing for buildings with the ‘skin and bones’ kind of appeal, a characteristic found essentially in the design of this building. It is almost like nudism in art, only that the canvas is 110 story tall. The form speaks for itself, and there is no articulation, almost like saying ‘Love me or Hate me, but this is me’.…
The main entrance has a ramp and two newspaper dispensers outside; a Christmas tree is in a window. There is a main dining area to the left and a larger dining area past that. To the right is a register and further down, a counter where you can sit and eat. Behind the counter are glass plates with designs of hot air balloons, perched…
