How will your paper be graded?
Your paper will be graded based on instructor’s judgments on these
aspects:
Substance:
Your writing must have a point. It should be responsive to the question or topic you have selected for comment. Though it is not essential for you to offer an absolutely brand new argument or thesis, your paper should provide a clear opinion, summary, and/or interpretation of relevant materials.
Form:
Your paper must be well organized, proof read, and spell checked. Paragraphs should have topic sentences that provide transitions between points and explain to the reader how the material you are presenting is relevant to the topic under discussion.
Evidence:
Historians rely on evidence to substantiate their arguments. Evidence should be used to illustrate points, provide examples, establish chronology and to show the reader how you came to draw the conclusions you are presenting in the writing.
How to submit your paper:
Go to final week’s folder and click “Final paper-dropbox” and submit your paper as an attachment through “upload” button. If you have trouble submitting the file online, email me immediately before the due time with your ppt in attachment.
Late Submission Policy
Theoretically we don’t accept late submissions. But if you have legitimate medical excuses (signed doctor’s note needed) for the preceding week, you’ll be allowed to submit your report after due time without punishments. For all other excuses, you may be allowed to submit your report after due time, but you’ll be punished (with 15 points deducted).
Plagiarism will be punished—you’ll receive F for the whole class.
I highly suggest you to read through the plagiarism tutorial page here before you start your writing:
