all day. Is there something going on. You know you can talk to me.” “ No, I’m fine. Sorry. I just don’t feel that good.” “Ok, well come on. Let me try on this dress, and I want your opinion. Then we can go.” “Yeah of course.” But as she says this Mona couldn't help but feel this guilt fall upon her for lying to her best friend. Once Mona arrives home she feels this sudden drain, like all of her energy was just leaving her. As she walks to the entrance of the house, her mom opens the door. “Hey honey how was the mall”, Her mom, Catherine, checks the mail, and then walks with Mona in side the house.
“It was fine. Even though I didn’t get anything.”
“Why not? You alway get something when you go to the mall with Mari. Is everything ok?”
“Ya, I don’t know, I guess I just don’t feel that good.” “Well maybe you should try and get some rest, and see how you feel before it’s time for us to go have dinner with the family.” After the brief talk with her mom, Mona does decide to go and take a nap. She walks to the back of the house, down a hall that lead to her room. The whole way there she could sense this haunting ambience, but chooses to ignore it and goes to lay down. On top of her, zebra print, cumpfuder she pulls the blanket, at the foot of the bed, over her, for warmth. As she lays there, she tosses and turns to get comfortable. Once she does she begins to drift off and falls into a deep sleep.
Mona rolls out of bed, with the disappointment of not being able to fall asleep. She then continues to the kitchen to grab herself a snack, with the intent of it helping her sleep. But once she reaches the kitchen, something startled her. She sees her family, her mother, father, and younger sister, Janne, staring directly at her with a dead look on their faces. This concerned Mona. “What are you guys doing?” Not know exactly what to say, these were the only words that came to her mind. As the word flew out of Mona’s mouth the basement door swings open in front of them, sending her heartbeat skyrocketing.
As she tries to calm herself from the fright of the opening door, she looks back at her family to find them no longer staring at her, but now staring at the opened basement door. In the act of her curiosity, Mona cautiously approaches her family. But then suddenly stops because of what she sees next. Her family beginning to raise their arms, pointing down into the deep dark basement. Now, shivers down her spine, Mona walks toward the basement door, trying to see what they are pointing to. She walks closer and closer straining her eyes to see through the thick blackness, while frequently looking back at her family to make sure nothing has changed. But with all her efforts she could not see anything but darkness, so she reaches for the light switch, inside the stairwell, to get a better look. But as she reaches in, something in the black darkness grabs her by the arm and yanks her down, slamming the door behind …show more content…
her. *gasp “What the hell was that? That was the most uncanny dream.” Waking up with a panic, she goes to make sure she isn't still dreaming, and heads to the kitchen. “Oh hei honey. Up just in time to go. How did you sleep? “ “ Pretty cruddy. I don’t think I am up for going to the dinner. Is it ok if I stay home. I just don’t feel great, sorry.” “Ya off course honey. I’m sorry you don't feel well.”
“Thanks mom, you guys have fun. Tell everyone I say hei.”
The door slams from the rush of people herding outside to go have dinner. Mona looks around, trying to find something to do, to fill the time. She decides to look for something to eat. She jerks open the refrigerator door to examine its content. She notices some leftover chilli. So she takes it out and places it in the microwave to heat it up.
In the corner of her eye, she sees the basement door open. Being that she is home alone, she jumps and turns, slowly, to get a better look. Except for, when she turned to look, she saw that the door was still sealed shut.
“Oh my god, I’m seeing things. I’m going crazy. I swear I thought I saw,” Mona pusses realizing that she is talking to herself.
“ I’m going crazy.”
BEEP BEEP
The chili was done. Mona grabs her food, and walks to the table to sit and eat her food. She sets down her plate on the placemat, and pulls out her chair. While she eats, in the lonely silence, she can’t help but think about what happened in her dream.
When she finishes her food, she takes it to to the sink.
While she washes her plate she looks up and sees the basement door in the reflection of the window. Mona puts her plate down and in fear and curiosity goes to investigate knowing how foolish it is. Heart beat racing. She opens the basement door and turns on the light. Nothing happens, so she decides to continue down the stairs. Looking around she sees nothing out of the ordinary. But Mona notices the something doesn't feel right, so she decides to return upstairs. When she starts losing her balances, and her vision starts to get foggy. She tries to continue walking to the stairs. But once she reaches the third stair she begins to fall back. Hits her head on the floor and she is knocked
unconscious.

“Huh what where am I?” Mona wakes up, confused and with a pounding headache. She looks around, and finds that she is no longer at home.
A man approaches her. Her vision still foggy.
“Who are you? Why am I here? What is going on?”
The man reaches down and gives her an injection.
“Ow! What was that? Whaat diid youu doooo to m…”
The injection was a tranquilizer, putting Mona to sleep.
“Hvor i helvete er jeg?” Mona glances around trying to find any clue to where she is. She can tell that she is in a basement. It seems to be under construction. There are tools and piles of wood everywhere. Installations covered the wall, with no drywall put up. Lighting fixtures hug from the ceiling. There is a bathroom at the end of the long stretched basement. She didn't know why that was so important to her. Something was pulling her towards it. She walks in and turns on the light...
A wet, cold sensation jolts Mona back to reality. The man was throwing buckets of water on her, as if he was washing her. Mona looks down to noticed that she was naked from head to toe, in an avocado colored tub. She was still too weak, from the tranquilizer, to even move. The only thing running through her mind now, was the thought of raped. She was naked, to weak to move and there was a stranger washing her, how could she think of anything else.
The repeated cycle of the dumping water, stops. Mona looks around trying to infer what would follow. That man hoists her out of the tub with no struggle. Once she was out he drops her and drags her to a dark room. The room had all brick walls and a metal door that locked from the outside. He leaves her on the cold cement. Then he walks out of the room leaving the door wide open. Mona thinks to herself, is he letting me go or is he just stupid. But then he walks back in with some clothes a second later. Without bothering to dry her, he begins to put clothes on her, the pants one leg at a time and the top one arm at a time. The slowness of this made her quiver in fear, with that terrifying thought still in the back of her mind. Once she was dressed he started walking to the door, when Mona finally gets some of her strength back, at least enough to say something.
“Ok so you have kidnapped me, you have drugged me, stripped me, poured freezing cold water on me, clothed me and now you're just going to lock me up. Well I don't think so. This is what I think is gonna happen. You are going to tell me who you are, where we are, and what you want with me.” Mona says this so fast, that she didn't even think to herself what the consequences could be. As Mona looked at the man she noticed something that she didn't notice before. She saw that he
