Equality Revealed In Ayn Rand's Anthem '

I think Equality has the right to be motivated. His primary motivation is to become a scholar. The world would be better a place in my opinion if everyone was as motivated as equality was in the book. Equality’s primary motivation was he wanted to become a scholar. That's all he ever wanted to be. He wanted to discover new things. “But we loved the Science of Things.We wished to know. We wished to know about all the things which make the earth around us.” (Left side of chapter one, paragraph #4) In the book, they explained they love to figure things out and how they work. They teachers said it was a sin to think of what you want to be. “Dare not choose in your minds the work you would like to do when you leave the Home of the Students.” (left side of chapter one, paragraph #3). They think they didn’t get what job they wanted because they have made a sin and is being punished.

I think Equality has the right motivated because everyone should want to change. Nobody wants to live the same day over and over again and not spice things up.
It’s like they let depression hit them right in the butt. If people would just be more motivated I feel like the world would be a happier place. In Anthem, they weren’t allowed to have feelings. They weren’t allowed to be motivated. And that is one boring, depressing life. “We are one in all and all in one. There are no men, but one the great WE, One, indivisible and forever.” (Chapter one left side, paragraph #8) This is stating that they can’t have any feelings by themselves. As in they have to feel what their brothers fell. Which is nothing because the teachers frown upon them when they are different from their brothers. “It is not good to be different from our brothers, but it is evil to be superior to them.
