During this year, we have read many stories. Only a few have only actually mean't something to me or had taught me something. The stories that I had in mind were "The Treasure of Lemon Brown", "There Will Come Soft Rains", and "We Are All One". These stories changed the way I viewed the world and life. I will be telling you how and why these stories mean something to me and what it is that it taught me.
The first story I would like to talk about is "The Treause of Lemon Brown". This story is about a man named Lemon Brown who is homeless but has certain items in which he considers his treasure. This tells me that even when you have lost it all, you can still have that one thing you consider the most valuable thing in the world. Also, it tells me that you shouldn't judge a person until you know their story. This lesson has affected my life because it has taught me to look at less fortunate people in a different way, not to judge them immediately, and to appreciate the things you have.
The next story is "There Will Come Soft Rains". This story tells about a world without humans because of nuclear missile explosions. Although all humans are gone, the earth would still rotate, and the animals would still chirp and run around. Hearing this tells me that we depend on the earth, but the earth doesn't depend on us and if we disappeared, the earth would still be there. Also, if we keep advancing in technology, will it be our savior or our destruction? this taught me we got to appreciate the world and take care of it and also watch how we come to in technology.
The last story I would like to talk about is "We Are All One". It talks about a man who helps nature and in the end helps him. This story tells that we must get along with one another, even if not human, to be sucessful in life. this taught me to think about the way I judge things and how I act towards them. It has taught me no to be cruel but kind, not harsh but caring to the things
