4C Yiu Sai Keung, Peter (24) 29/04/14 Short task 4 Writing a short story Correction “A Test” One day, Chris Wong was alone in the school library when suddenly there was a strange noise coming from behind one of the shelves. ‘Oh no!’ yelled Chris Wong. All the light of the library was off. The library became a mess. Suddenly, a story book was shined which called “The Game Is On”, it is about revenge. Chris Wong picked the story book up and wanted to have a look. Sadly, something was happening, one man called Tom appeared. ‘Chris, help me!’ exclaimed Tom. Chris was skinny but helpful. Chris would help him. ‘I am bullied for a long time ago because of my bald head and scruffy clothing. Everyone hates me. Please, help me get revenge on those people who bully me!’ said Tom. ‘I am having the same problem as you. Last year, I lost in a running competition. After that, I was beaten by some boys. My classmates were bystanders; they didn't want to keep me safe, ‘How can I help you on the revenge?’ asked Chris. ‘Your job is to kill them!’ shouted Tom. ‘Ok!’ answered Chris. After that, Tom disappeared. While Chris was walking out of the library, a nine years old girl, GiGi, came in. Chris was shocked. Although she was young, her action and voice was mature. ‘Where are you going?’ asked GiGi. ‘I am ready to kill people, would you like to get involved?’ said evilly Chris. GiGi said nothing. At that moment, the light was turned on. ‘Oh no, it is a test?’ yelled Chris Wong. Actually, it was a test designed by teachers, so as to check whether Chris Wong was an intelligent man or not. At last, all his classmates laughed at him. Poor Chris would be kicked out of the school. Word count: 314

After watching a few commercials from this year’s Super Bowl Football game, the one that caught my eye the most was the 2012 Chevy Silverado Apocalypse. It was humorous, creative, and got the point across to the audience. Compared to the other commercials of this year’s Super Bowl those were the qualities that stuck out more so. The commercial effective with the way it played out and was well set up.…

“Turn to page three hundred and eight in your excel books”, Said the teacher. What? Shouted the boys on the left. You promised us it was prac today? This is bullshit! A general giggle erupted across the classroom. I felt sorry for the teacher as she and I both knew she was in for an hour of torture. “We only have practical classes once a week, you know that” she said hesitantly. Yeah.. well - that’s shit isn’t it! Said one of the boys. The teacher was beginning to show her frustration but she didn’t reply. She knew they got their kicks out of making her angry so she remained silent. They had made her cry a couple of times this term already. I didn’t see why they liked teasing her; but I still didn’t tell them off.…

I, Ali, joined CVS Caremark project at TCS-Lahore in November after a successful stint at Aviva in TCS-Islamabad, where I had worked as a trainee. I had always wanted to go back to my hometown and live with my parents and when I got a transfer to Lahore I didn’t waste a single moment in saying yes to the new project and heading towards Lahore. Many of my friends were also moving out from Islamabad at the same time which only made my decision easier. I felt that Caremark offered better career prospects, as it was a new project and we were offered to work on the current technologies that were in demand in the market. I was sure I would excel in my new position at Caremark, just as I had done in my old job at Aviva.…
