Essay Case Interview Case Study
The student I chose to interview for my case study is a female African American; her name is Jenny. She is five years and 10 months old. She is in Kindergarten at Louise Troy Elementary. She was born and raised in Dayton, so she has attended Dayton Public Schools for her entire school career. Jenny is very quiet and reserved compared to the other students in the class. During instruction time, Jenny is almost always on task. She is not the most active participant in the classroom, but she always does what is asked of her. I decided to interview Jenny because her approach to schooling was different than mine. The classroom that I am in consists of forty-eight students. Since the class size is so large, it is easy for quiet students like Jenny to get lost in the shuffle. I had gotten to know most of the more vocal students, but I felt like I did not have a good grasp of who Jenny was. I asked my Cooperating …show more content…
I do not think she fully comprehended the questions that I was asking. Peace is a big subject that is enforced at Louise Troy Elementary. At the beginning of the year, each student had to sign a “Peace Promise” that they would follow. Jenny had a good understanding of peace, since she has been taught this concept multiple times. Her answers for the “Who decides” portion reiterated the involvement of her family. They enable her to think for herself, but also make decision for her because she is only in Kindergarten. The morality section of the interview revealed different results than I anticipated. Jenny’s responses showed that she has good morals. This could be attributed to her belief in God and attending church with her “Nana.” She has a good grasp of the moral dimensions of life already. Though she is not even six, Jenny could tell me about the death of a relative. She completely understood what was going on and was emotionally able to share it. This shows great maturity for her

Child A and his one older sister, Child B, all live at home with Mum and Dad. It was first noticed that Child A had additional needs when he started nursery, where he didn’t settle or mix with the other children. Child A was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 2011; he also experiences a lot of difficulties with anxiety. While there are some things that are known triggers for the anxiety, such as being touched, it is often not clear what has caused it. This means that some of Child A’s behaviour, actions and reactions can also be inconsistent and unpredictable. (Reference K2)…

I observed Mrs. Collier’s first grade class at J.B. Hunt elementary on Thursday September 13, 2015. The classroom had a great climate and was decorated nicely. She had bright posters hanging on the wall as well as many colorful boxes, curtains, and chairs around the room. The desks were set up in one giant “U” with Mrs. Collier sitting in the middle. It was a great set up for the kids because they could easily see her and she could easily see them. The dynamics in the classroom seemed great because she connected well with each student and was interested in what they had to say. The students behavior seemed very respectful towards her and they listened when she asked them to do something. Mrs. Collier’s equity between her and her students was…

In this assignment I conduct a life course case study of a seventy-four year old man, Mr. Gambina, in order to find out whether structure or agency has been most influential throughout his life. The agent is the person who actually performs the action, while structure refers to the main structures in society that influence the way the agents act. Most structuralists share a conviction that individual human beings function solely as elements of the (often hidden) social networks to which they belong.…

For this assessment, I have consciously moved away from a list of topic-based essay questions in favour of requiring a more integrative, theoretically informed and empirically grounded critical case study. This approach mirrors the teaching and learning processes of the module, is the hallmark of visual cultural analysis, and is the logical extension of the work you have undertaken for workshops which served as a valuable `rehearsal’ for this assessment.…

In my personal opinion it is a good idea to converse with elder people, because “wisdom comes with age.” In class we received an assignment from Ms. Johnson stating that we had to give an interview a person who was born during or before 1950, and she preferred it to be someone from the family. Sadly, my father was born in 1958, and I’m not in the position to get in contact with other family members in England or Nigeria. Therefore, I had to get with an individual closest to me, that person is Michael Kusheba. Mr.Kusheba was born in 1943. He went to Richmond University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree. He gained his Master’s Degree at East Texas State University and became a certified computing professional. He teaches PC Operating Systems, Basic Programming, Intro to the Internet, and Business Computer Applications. Prior to teaching at Kilgore, he taught at Florida State and Jarvis Christian University. In class, Mr. Kusheba tells some entertaining stories; in the following paragraphs I will described the renowned events reiterated in the classroom.…
