essay management and leadership
The business I am starting up is a spring roll business it will be called 'Vietnamese Spring Roll'. I have decided to become a sole trader. I chose to be a sole trader because I have unlimited liability, I will have complete control of the business and I will be totally responsible for its success or its failure. It is also simple and inexpensive to set up my business as a sole trader. I get to keep all the profits, although I realize that I must save enough money to pay taxes, VAT, and interest on loans. Some of the losses made in my first year may be offset, or balanced against money I have paid earlier in the same financial year towards tax. Also if one part of my business is not profitable I can quickly change to something else profitable. Some of the disadvantages of being a sole trader are because I have unlimited liability I will be responsible for everything including any debts may occur. There is a very high risk of my business being a failure as there may be and usually is great competition from other business in the area. But this also is a challenge for me to overcome and stand stable in this market.
Even this business is just started at a small scale, I need to consider what is the best appropriated leadership style and management theory to be practiced.
A person can adopt various styles of leadership such as authoritarian, laissez-faire, or democratic. None of any leadership style is good or bad. It’s important that how the leader uses their styles to influent particular individuals to exert on the goal achievement based on an organizational context. I believe that an effective leader is someone who sets direction in an effort or task and influences or motivates people to follow that direction. Moreover, an effective leader must be respected by the members of his or her group in order to perform effectively.
As an owner of this sole trader business that specializes in providing quality spring rolls, I would like to

After investigating the background of leadership, and looking into various leadership models, I can see there is no single style which will make someone an effective leader/manager.
