Infatuation is an immature feeling or admiration one has toward an object whether it is a toy car or a doll. To inspire with a temporary intense unreasoning love for a person or thing. (Oxford American Dictionary 1980.) Infatuation in many ways is just a word for a strong feeling toward someone or something with little or no reason.
Toy cars, dolls, or just a simple house hold item one can easily become infatuated with anything. The pure essence or the aroma of a candle may construct an infatuation. Even a candle or an aerosol can. Perhaps it is the rigidness or texture of an object. Although the sound of a roaring 1969 Mach 1 Mustang May be just enough for you. Infatuation is a feeling that can be felt toward many different objects including humans; it is a feeling that can happen over any period of time days, weeks, or months.
Infatuation comes from the years 1640 to 1650; the Late Latin word of infatuātiōn. The Latinate word was kept unbroken instead of just inserting a root word, where in Latin the term is deciphered to be the same as today’s modern times. Whether it be in the Late Latin times or our modern era the word can still be described as a form of love or obsession.
