Hispanics and Latino Americans are citizens with origins in the Hispanic countries of Latin America or Spain. The term Hispanic was first adopted by the United States government during the administration of Richard M. Nixon. To be identified as “Hispanic” means that your ethnic background and heritage can be traced back to the original Spanish empire’s lineage. Spanish is a commonly spoken language in many states in America including California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
Hispanics and Latinos in the United States have existed since the 16th century. The only other group that has existed longer is the Native American Indians.

Amri Hernandez- Pellerano engineer, who designs, builds and tests the electronics that will regulate the solar array power in order to charge the spacecraft battery and distribute power to the different loads or users inside various spacecraft at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Dr. Pedro Rodriguez Inventor and Mechanical Engineer who is the director of a test laboratory at NASA. He invented a portable battery-operated lift seat for people suffering from knee arthritis. Seven Hispanic and Latinos are currently or former astronauts.

There have been far fewer football and basketball players; however, Tom Flores was the first Hispanic head coach and the first Hispanic quarterback in American professional football, and won Super Bowls as a player, as assistant coach and as head coach for the Oakland Raiders.
Boxing's first Hispanic would champion was Panama Al Brown. Some other champions include Oscar De La Hoya and Olympic medalist Paul Gonzales. In the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC) promotions of mixed martial arts (MMA) are Ricco Rodriguez, Tito Ortiz, Diego Sanchez, Nathan Diaz and Cain
