Back in 2008, I decided to pursue a career as a medical billing and coder. That was not exactly what my mom had in mind, but I guess it was my way of considering her opinion and still being true to myself; as in finding my own path. After graduation in 2009, I have worked as a medical biller for various dermatologist from Southern California, Nevada, and Georgia. Learning the certain task of a medical biller is a great quality to carry in the future, but as time went by, I did not find any satisfaction in calling insurances requesting claims status for hundreds of patients’ account. See, what God and my mother did for me was to give me free will to either find myself and realize on my own terms that I need guidance. In that same concept, majority of patients need guidance. Some may be stubborn while others are vulnerable. I just hope that because I have realized on my own that nursing is what I really want to do, my concern and care will be genuine to tend for those in need.
