The National Anthem was made to symbolize our independence after a war. This wouldn’t have happened if the soldiers didn’t fight for our freedom. Kneeling and locking arms during the National Anthem is disrespectful because it desrespects the U.S. soldiers, sets a bad example for the younger generations, and disrespects the flag. Everyday, U.S. soldiers are in danger, risking their lives so we the people can live our lives the way we do. This song honors all the soldiers who ever served and their families. The 13 stripes on the flag represent the first colonies and the 50 stars represent the 50 states. The red on the stripes signifies courage, the white is for purity and innocence, and the blue is for preserverance and justice. This is one thing that all Americans have in common. Since this is a free country, there is no single religion that citizens share. Without the flag, there would be nothing connecting all the different cultures and places of the states. When an individual looked up to by millions disrespects the flag and belittles it, the flag looses it’s meaning. The flag is what represents the United States, especially to the soldiers.
