This orphanage was run by a group of nuns, who made it their duty to take care of these children, who were abandoned by their families, free of charge. Rooms of this orphanage were filled with children who had physical disabilities, ranging from blindness to having no legs. Even with their disability, these children seemed happier than anybody that I had seen on my whole trip. The joy that these children had, without the “obvious” necessities of our daily lives—cell phones, the internet, and even significant body parts—seemed incomprehensible to me. At the end of my trip I realized that I had taken for granted what seemed necessary to survive and go on for my day-to-day life. Realizing the blessings that I have received and the sacrifices my parents have made for me is something that I remember often and am ever-grateful for. This trip has motivated me to pursue a career in a health-care based engineering. This would involve creating and designing systems and inventions ranging from prosthetic and bionic legs to linear accelerator machines that help treat
