I think the English true intentions was to use the Natives and steal their resources like their gold and their beads. The Natives and the English have had a conflict in Colonies; not only the English but also to the Spanish. The Natives were very hostile to intruders on their land; they did not want to interfere with colonists on their land. At the most part; Natives, in general, were known to be very savage like or ignorant people, but they were getting upset overtime because the Colonists or the English would take advantage of them. The Natives were just blindsided by the fact that they were being used. But not in every situation; some groups of Natives formed alliances with others. According to “King Phillips War (Historical Background)”; It talks about in 1675 with the military alliance between the Native groups. The chief of the Pokanokets tribe Metacomet who better known as King Philip wanted to take down the colonists. Metacomet actually despised the Europeans; unlike his father Massasoit who actually wanted peace with the colonists. Metacomet leads an attack against the Puritans and the colonists because the colonists wanted to make the Natives convert to Christianity. This is a major example of how the Natives and the colonist's relationship started to fade away.
