”We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and forever will be the United States of America.”
This is one of many bold declarations made by the 44. President of the United States of America in his Presidential Acceptance Speech 2012. Barack Hussein Obama won the election 303 electoral votes vis-a-vis Governor Mitt Romney’s 202 electoral votes.
Obama’s speech consists of anecdotes, his thoughts about the future, his deep sense of humility and most of all how the country should not be divided into merely red and blue states. Instead they should come together and achieve greatness. In the beginning of his speech he says the following:
“The task of perfecting our nation moves forward.”
With that statement he is painting the way for a common mission for the USA.
Hitler said in his autobiography “Mein kampf”:
“Fewer people are won over by the written word than by the spoken word and that every great movement on this earth owes its growth to great speakers and not to great writers.” -Adolph Hitler
Obama is a great speaker. The way he stands humble before the nation, rallies for solidarity. He expresses unity in several places throughout his speech. For example he says that everybody who made their voice heard made a difference, no matter whose side they were on, which again shows that he is an advocate for a reuniting of the nation, despite of the diversity. Right after that, he says that he called Governor Mitt Romney and congratulated him and Paul Ryan on a hard fought campaign. This goes to show his magnanimity and humility, and deep sense of respect for his opponent.
President Obama is quick in his speech to set aside him and Mitt
