One major example of this would be in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955 when Rosa Parks and her refusal to give up her seat on the bus to make room for the white men to sit down. She went against the Jim Crow law which enforced racial segregation to stand up for equality. Her act of civil disobedience ended bus segregation. Without her bus segregation could have still taken place then and maybe even now.
Finally my last reason why a peaceful resistance to laws has a positive impact on a free society is because the intentions are positive. In both of the examples I talked about in the previous paragraphs above each of the women had positive intentions. Rosa Parks and Bree Newsome were both taking action on what they believed in which was justice, freedom, and most importantly equality in the system.
In conclusion I strongly believe that a peaceful resistance to laws has a positive impact on a free society. I believe this because it causes no harm, has positive intentions, and because it could have an impact on the future generations. The ones that are showing acts of civil disobedience are simply standing up for what they believe and achieved their goal by acting in a civil manner. Even though the outcome of their act usually results in jail time they are still happy and proud about what they have done because they made an impact in
