The store that I visited was the Latin Supermarket located in Valrico near Home Depot. The parking lot in big, however, parking is always limited due to the customers that go to this store. The store is huge and caters to many. This store has a jewelry shop, money can be sent internationally, cell phones are sold, it has a restaurant, bakery, meat department, produce department, groceries and a hair salon.
The store has fruits and vegetables that are sold in a regular supermarket, however, there some fruits that are sold in this store that are not sold in regular supermarket. Papaya, is a fruits that is sold in this
store.
The have a variety of starches. Some of the starches that this store has are root vegetables. Root vegetables are sweet potatoes, cassava, tania, and yucca. These vegetables are common in a Hispanic home or someone from the Caribbean. The rice is another reason why I come to this store because it is hard to find in a regular store. The only rice I buy is the Sello Rojo brand, which is pearl enriched rice and the grains are small. The store also have different type and brand of rice. They also sell a lot of Goya products like beans, seasoning, malt, bacalaitos (salt fish fritter) and Sazón. They have an half of aisle with crackers and different type of cookies. They have different type of sodas – watermelon, coco rico, and cola champagne.
The restaurant is highly popular and sells Spanish food. The prices are good and two people can eat from one plate. They have a large variety of food that can be selected. I purchased the octopus salad and it was amazing. The avocado salad is also tasty. They serve chicken, steaks, fish, white rice, season rice, rice with pigeon peas, beans, plantains, stuffed peppers, soups, and stews. This is one place that I would recommend.
