Soc’s hold a higher social status than Greasers. Greasers are judged because of their appearances because they have greasy long hair and look dirty. Soc’s have the money to pay for things like college that will allow them to be successful in their future. They don’t have to worry about paying for their education or stress about getting jobs. Greasers, on the other hand, need to find the money or get a scholarship in order to go to college. Most Greasers who can’t afford to go to college or didn’t get a good enough education because of their wealth won’t get good jobs in their futures. Socials are already born with the privilege of money that will help them through life. Greasers know the value of money and have to work much harder than Soc’s to achieve success. Soc’s own things like fancy cars and clothes while some Greasers have to dropout of school to get a job and support their families.
Greasers are not equal to Soc’s in society. Soc’s are more wealthier, seen as more trustworthy, and held at a higher standard than Greasers are. They don’t have to work as hard as Greasers are in order to be successful. They carry the privilege and advantage of being rich and being above everyone else in the social chain of
