Texting while Driving Texting and Driving has been one of the leading causes of death in the U.S... Texting has increased since 2008 by over 70 billion percent, and out of this teens are the ones who text more. The most ardent texters are teenagers between the ages of 13 to 17. Teenagers have a higher chance of texting and driving. Text messages can be useful to change plans, arranging for rides, or asking a question and parents will also be able to keep track of their child’s whereabouts, but is it all worth it to hurt others around you or you? Is it worth all the danger? Do you want to have the guilt of seriously hurting people or even yourself? Or hurt the person so bad it leads to death? Those are the questions you have to ask yourself. If you are driving in a car and you receive a message is it really that important to break the important rule of driving? Keep your eyes on the road at all times. phones. It is a problem though. Teens that text while driving tends to spend 10 percent of their time driving outside of the lane they are in. It’s not just teens that do it but adults too. About 63 percent of young drivers have either seen their parents drive while talking or texting on their phones. 27 percent of adults say they have received or even sent text messages while they were driving. 48 percent of children ages from 12 to 17 have been in the car where the driver is texting or talking to someone on their mobile device. Even one in five people admit to surfing the web while driving. Several states have prohibited all drivers from using cell phones. If you really want to talk to someone while you are in the car it is better to use blue tooth that way you can keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. If you can’t purchase a blue tooth than either put your phone on silent or put it on airplane mode that way the device cant receive any calls or messages. The person that is texting or calling you can wait untils you are in a safe environment to answer. Texting while driving it can wait.
