This impacted America because it interfered with the education of the children of the country. As thoroughly developed in document 7, it is shown that the students and teachers were interrupted by the sound of an air-raid siren. Overtime it sounded, the teachers stopped teaching and escorted the children to the basement where they would be taught to “lean in and fold our[the students] arms over our heads.”. This clearly is an impediment towards the learning students. Not only was education affected, the minds of young children was as well. Throughout their career as a student from kindergarten, this idea of fear was installed in their brains and will continue to be a part of their grade school experience. Resulting in yet another widely significant impact exhibited by this constant fear of the Communists.
As you can see, the fear of Communism throughout America as well as the Cold War itself, had an extremely significant impact on United States’ policies and the country in general. Although the fight for their democracy to stand strong was strenuous and difficult, the country managed to pull through and continue to run it like
