First, the Populist Movement could be considered a success due to the laws they created. Some examples of these laws passed would be the laws regulating banks, stockyards, railroads and the ones that improved the work conditions. They set up local stores and bought goods. They very well achieved this goal. People began to see farmers and poor people couldn't survive like they should have been. The high taxes and poor conditions caused them to suffer tremendously. Remnants of the group successfully raised awareness of the plight of workers and farmers, giving way to the first farm grants and encoded rights for workers. This lead the way for child labor being outlawed and the minimum wage.
In conclusion, the Populist movement was a success in my eyes. The Populists had a great influence in the late 19th and 20th century American politics, industrialization and especially railroad transportation. I believe if you have an impact on even just a few and reach out to people who are struggling just like you are. You have succeeded and that’s what the Populists did.
