Essay On The Reproductive System
The reproductive system is a collection of internal and external organs (male and female) that work together for the purpose of recreating. Many scientists argue that the reproductive system is the most important system in the body. Without the reproductive system we would not be able to reproduce. 1 For the male reproductive system there are two major parts: testes, where the sperm is produced and the penis. In males the penis and urethra belong to both the urinary system and reproductive system. The testes are carried in an external pouch that is more commonly known as the scrotum. They actually remain at a slightly cooler temperature than normal body temperature so that they are able to facilitate sperm production. 1 In women the external organs in the reproductive system are the clitoris, labia minora and Bartholin's glands. The internal organs are the vagina and the uterus. The uterus acts as the replacement for semen. Also, the ovaries produce the female’s ova (eggs). The vagina is attached to the uterus through the cervix, while the fallopian tubes connect the uterus to the ovaries. In response …show more content…
The primary symptom is pelvic pain that often comes when you get your period. Painful periods, dysmenorrhea, is one of the main symptoms. It causes your pelvic area to be in pain and cramping, lower back pain and abdominal pain. There can also be pain with intercourse, during and after. Pain with bowel movements or urination is also common. Also excessive bleeding or heavy periods (menorrhagia) and bleeding between periods (menometrorrhagia) can also occur. Infertility can also be a symptom. Lastly, fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, bloating and nausea are all symptoms that are associated with endometriosis. Depending on who you are your symptoms can range from very mild to very severe. Sometimes endometriosis can be mistaken for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) or ovarian cysts and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Relationships can be explained by both sexual selection and the human reproductive system; however they both differ from each other. Sexual selection explains how evolution is driven by competitions for mating and to ensure the characteristics that are chose allow the reproduction to be a success. The human reproductive behaviour explains the strategies that both males and females take on. Sexual selection has two types, Intra-sexual selection and Inter- sexual selection. Intra-sexual selection is men competing towards each other for females. This allowed men to evolve into bigger, stronger males with more manly characteristics. Inter-sexual selection involves females choosing their males. They seek partners who can provide them with resources such as a home and wealth as well as protection. Due to the two types of selection, both male and females have evolved leading to better characteristics.…

When the U.S. population had reached a record, the 300 millionth person to be born, news reports and the media started to clamor. How with the “major” help of the Latinas did this come to happen (Chavez 70)? It is evident that we need to look deeper into how this data is represented in the U.S. and realize that these representations are not always accurate. A myth is more than a made up story, it can be the topic of what we represent to believe true. “Latina sexuality, fertility, and reproduction are analyzed as key intertwined concepts in a national public discourse on immigration (Chavez 73).” This story is way more convoluted than we are told to accept as true. In general, it may be true that…

The aim of the female reproductive system is to produce mature oocytes which match with the male spermatocyte to create offspring. Fertilisation most commonly occurs in the fallopian tubes, though this can also occur later in a female’s menstrual cycle if the egg has already moved down into the uterus, though there is a higher chance of miscarriage as the lining of the womb may continue to shed. The external female reproduction features have two functions; to allow insemination and to also protect against infection and injury. These structures include; the labia majora, which contains glands that produce sweat, the labia minora which surrounds the opening of the vagina and urethra, bartholin's glands which are just behind the vaginal…

Endometriosis is a painful, chronic disease that occurs when tissue, called the endometrium is found outside the uterus. Common symptoms include lower abdomen pain, often described as “cramp-like” pain. Other symptoms associated with endometriosis are pelvic pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and infertility. Pain can also appear in the lower belly, legs and back. The type of pain felt depends on where the endometrial tissue has grown in the abdomen. Another term for endometrial tissue is endometrial implants. These implants can grow outside the womb or in the wall of a fallopian tube. The bowel and bladder can also be affected, which can lead to problems with urination and bowel movements.…

The female reproductive system is a complex system that differs from the males in many ways. The female reproductive system is mainly located inside the woman’s body. The primary female reproductive organs include the vagina, the uterus, the fallopian tubes, and the ovaries. The vagina is a tubular structure. It leads from the external genitalia to the uterus. The uterus is triangular in shape and is situated between the urinary bladder and the rectum. At one end, it protrudes into the posterior wall of the vagina to form the cervix. At the other end, fallopian tubes extend from each of the two superior corners. The fallopian tubes curve around the wall of the pelvic cavity. The purpose of the fallopian tubes is to carry an ovum from the ovary to the uterus. If there are sperm cells in the fallopian tubes then fertilization may occur. If fertilization does not take place, the system is designed to menstruate (the monthly shedding of the uterine lining). In addition, the female reproductive system produces female sex hormones that maintain the reproductive cycle.…
