Physical abuse, often occurring is one of the main forms of child abuse, “One study suggests that about 1 in 20 children has been physically abused in their lifetime” ("Healthy Children."). Also, stated in a journal by pediatrician Dr. Kempe there is examined evidence of unexplained head injuries and repeated broken bones in children (“Child Abuse”). CPS is vital in taking care of these children and protecting them from violence. Although sometimes we get angry and lash out, physical abuse is not the answer to our anger, and in fact is illegal. That’s why it is very important that we have Child Protective Services to monitor and take care of children in these situations. Also, abuse is not just physical it can be emotional or sexual. CPS is very crucial in protecting these children because a lot of times children are scared to come forward and tell what has been done to them.
