This Change Request would fund the labor, travel, and KISS user days for a factory technician from Rubb Building Systems to assist with the on-site construction of the Summit Mobile Garage as a quality assurance measure to facilitate timely and proper assembly of the structure. Specifically, upon arrival at Summit Station the Rubb technician will assess the status of the erection, which will already be in-progress, and work with the CPS Foreman in addressing questions or clarifications, identifying potential solutions to current or anticipated issues. Additional services will include expert interpretation of the Rubb construction documents, proposing of experienced-informed construction methods, assembly instructions for crew members as required, status documentation assistance, and hands-on execution of construction efforts integral with the CPS team. CPS has identified three main advantages for sending this technical expert to Summit: 1) ensuring an efficient construction process that will save time and labor, and will reduce risks associated with a prolonged construction phase, 2) assurance the structure has been constructed properly, resolving onsite issues and verifying there are no manufacturing defects, and 3) guaranteeing the warranty remains valid. Overall, the Rubb technician will provide on-site instruction, guidance, building-specific tools aiding the construction, and otherwise perform construction efforts along-side the CPS construction crew. The SIP base and tent for this structure were procured in Yr4 (CR 04-F011) and this work will be funded under a separate Yr5 subcontract to the manufacturer.…

It has been established that Company Q is a small grocery chain that has recently decided to close two of their stores in heavily populated areas due to profit loss and high crime statistics. The necessity to close two stores is a significant economic failure for both the community and the stake holders involved in the franchise. Company Q has demonstrated that improvements need to be made to restore their reputation within the community and gain the confidence it needs to succeed among the share holders of the company. Since Company Q has closed these two stores, the loss of employment by members of the community has been recognized along with the need for citizens to travel further outside of the community for groceries. This takes tax revenue away from the city and has also resulted in two vacant buildings. In a community already plagued with crime, this adds to the potential of additional crime. In order to salvage Company Q’s reputation with the community and restore trust with the shareholders, significant changes will need to be made. Based on the closure of two stores, the social responsibility that Company Q exudes is very poor and concerted effort will need to be displayed in order to prove they are a socially responsible company.…

When creating the targeted population for Eric Harmon organization, as per Eric’s guidelines we targeted 100% of his total organization for White Belt. The guidance that was provided for changes to White Belt targets is the following: No changes will be made to the targeted population, if a leader decides that their employees will not complete the White Belt, get it approved by Eric and agreed that their percentage completed would never reach 100%. The updated 100% would be a percentage of their targeted employees. So a leader may be at 50%, at that is their 100% if that is what was agreed upon by Eric and the leaders.…

Businesses today face a plethora of ethical duties such as upholding corporate governance, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and presenting an image of social responsibility. In review of Company Q’s (Q) current ethics culture, its image in regards to social responsibility is not equivalent to that of its competitors. In a growing market faced with increasingly challenging competition, there are several areas that Q can and needs to address to bring the company to a level of social responsibility that exceeds stakeholder expectations. First, attention Q needs to address market demands for additional locations to better serve current customers and attract new customers. Next, Q needs to place focus on community involvement to enhance brand recognition and reputation. Lastly, product lines need to be evaluated to ensure Q is responding to customer demands and promoting healthy living.…

In establishing the budget the first determination that was made was the amount of money necessary for each of the designated areas of spending per month. This was determined by dividing the amount of money currently allotted annually by the months in the year (12) to determine if the budgeted amount was on or off target. The amount of expenditure in each category was also considered. For example, the annual budget for personnel is 250,000. If this number is divided by 12 months the amount of money allotted to spend for personnel during each month of the fiscal year is 20,833. The amount of money expended during the month of March was 20,000. (P. Slimmer, personal communication, November 17, 2011).…

According to the current situation Company Q has a damaged attitude toward social responsibility within their company, all because of low profits being made. Due to high crime rates in certain areas the company has been closing off stores, not realizing the problem they have caused. The people that live in the prospected area where the stores where closed are now forced to travel further for groceries. This causes a problem especially for the poor, who do not have the extra money for extra expenses. I recommend the company take precautionary measures to help catch and promote others not to steal. They could do this by offering a reward, or installing cameras. This would help promote social responsibility within the company. Another very serious problem is the companies unwillingness to donate food for those in need. Especially since the company isn’t losing much or nothing at all by donating. The sudden unwillingness to donate is due to the distrust of the owners with the employees. They believe the employees will start to steal while saying they are donating it to the poor. This is yet another sign of a weak social responsibility within the company. These particular problems and fears are direct situations which concretely damages the social responsibility within the company, as well as the community. My personal recommendation is to draw out concrete guidelines and procedures that the employees have to follow before donating food. This would allow a company to gain trust within the employees as well as being benevolent towards the poor. Especially if cameras are involved employees tend to be more honest. They can also use an employee hiring technique that is based on a persons honesty and dignity. The last problem that the company has is its unwillingness to offer more health conscience food. If the above recommendations are taken into account, the…
