Sara had to make a harsh but responsible decision in this episode to terminate shift supervisor Ronnie's employment. I don't feel that this was a decision that Sara wanted to make but it was the right decision for the future success of the business. Sara's decision was primarily based on Ronnie's terrible attitude towards the customer's but he also didn't have the best work ethic or customer service skills. Ronnie displayed many negative traits for someone whose position is to show great customer service to all customers and lead the employees that work under him in the right direction. Ronnie expressed his dislike for the elderly and children due to the fact that they take longer than average to make a decision on what they would like to order. He also bad mouthed the customers and called them very rude names and his work ethic was not great either, he passed some of his work on for Sara to do so he could stay out longer and have a smoke break. Sara didn't feel that Ronnie was a positive representative of Boston Markets values, one of which is love to serve and he did not love to serve the customers or even like the customers. the other employees, his attitude would eventually change the overall morale of the employees and that would affect the success of the store. Ronnie's behavior was unacceptable to Sara and the same customers that he talked bad about are the same one's that make it possible for him to receive the paycheck that he lives on. Sara had to make this decision for the company because enough employees like Ronnie would ruin the success of Boston Market.
I believe that Sara's decision to terminate Ronnie was a very reasonable decision for the company.
Ronnie did not exemplify the behavior or attitude that a Boston Market employee should have for the success of the company. The fact that Ronnie did not know who Sara was allowed him to show his true colors and how he interacts with the customers and employees on a day to day basis. Ronnie tried to downplay his actions and words after he found out who Sara really was. More employees like Ronnie will inevitably ruin the company at some point, that's why it's important to remove them from the company. I feel that his attitude would likely get worse over time because he's not really a people's person and customer service may not be the field he should have a career
in.
Sara's decision was based on Ronnie's horrible attitude towards the customers and his negative representation of Boston Market. Ronnie would not be beneficial to the company going forward with his poor work ethic and bad attitude. Eventually there would more than likely be an increase in customer complaints and lose of business to the store. I feel that for the company to continue to thrive employees like Ronnie would need to be terminated and new ones brought in that enjoy working with customers and encouraging the team that works under them to do the best job possible for the success of the company.
