The recent economic recession and the subsequent unemployment problems made the uninsured and underinsured problem worse. People who belong to these two categories have worse access to the primary health care. Hence, they suffer from their ailments.They are almost devoid of their human rights in regard to health and well-being. As per the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone has the right for the health and well- being of oneself and family, and the right to security in the event of sickness. Most of the times justice refers to the supply of the inadequate health care resources. The difficult decision on the resource distribution usually depends on the fact that who has the right to health care and who pays the health care costs (Rich & Butts, n.d.). This is not fair, as those who are not able to pay for their health care services will be mostly neglected. If the health care is a basic right in the U.S., everyone irrespective of their socio-economic/ insured/uninsured status will receive the essential health care. This could bring down many discrepancies in the health delivery system.
