Ethical Lens Inventory
Personal Ethics Statement: I will prove to be a good student and set an example for others by living honest and showing respect for myself by following my schools code of ethics and conduct. Setting examples will show people how to be honest in their everyday life. I feel people will learn how to act by follow the examples people show.
Setting examples will show others how to lead an honest life. Essentially, I need to be a positive role model. I will not cheat on my work. I will not lie to get out of doing work or a test. I am going to follow the code of ethics and conduct.
I will be a positive role model. If people see me performing honest acts, then they will learn from my example. I will be a leader of honesty so that way anyone who follows my footsteps will also lead in honesty for those who follow in their footsteps.
The most important reasons that people set good examples is to show people how to lead an honest life. It teaches people how to have respect for not only them but also others. In general, you can live your academic life with honesty and respect and your personal life the same way. All you have to do is follow the rules and guides given to you.
In conclusion, although some people will not see that leading by example would help people live a better lifestyle, setting examples will show them how to behave for two main reasons. First, people will follow by example. Making honest and respectable decisions will demonstrate an honest lifestyle that everyone could maintain and live.
What I learned through the Ethical Lens Inventory: Through the Ethical Lens Inventory I learned that my ethics has some weaknesses and strengths. I also have a blind spot. It showed me my classic and core values. It showed me that my definition of ethical behavior is like my personal ethic statement it is creating the greatest good by living out role responsibility.
Preferred Ethical Lens: The result of my personal preferred lens is the Results Lens and Reputation

Before I started this assignment I had no idea what the ethical lens inventory meant, I was confused. I just followed the directions and started working on the assignment. As I was answering the questions, I had a couple of questions that repeated and in my mind seemed similar and I thought, “I just answered this question,” but at the end I understood why the questions, were like that. It was because it was testing my values. My ethical lens inventory report showed me my preferred ethical lens, blind spot, strengths and weaknesses, and my values and the resultant behavior.…

Taking an ethical learning path, and the behaviors that support ethical learning, are important in the University of Phoenix learning community. I learned that being honest and making good choices will help you succeed in your learning community, as well as, knowing that by putting forth your best effort; and doing your own work will give you a sense of accomplishment. Your habits and the choices you make also should reflect the ethical learning path because you (the student) are the one that is here for the best education you are willing to get; and you…

As a student in a Primary School I believe that I am a good role model to the children in the setting “Remember that children notice and learn from your feelings, actions and reactions. You are a powerful source of learning for the child.”(Bruce, 2007, P157) I am always punctual this helps the children because if I always turn up late they may feel as though it is then okay for them to turn up late everyday when its not so if they see me on time everyday then they will do the same.…

The ethical lens inventory has done an excellent job at teaching me about myself; things that I did not know or had pointed out to me in the past. I 100% agree with my preferred ethical lens which is the reputation lens, I use sensibility to find equality for all. I defiantly do feel like I do that or strive to achieve this. My blind spot of having unrealistic role expectation is something I know all to well, having fell victim to it in the past. Sometimes I forget that we are all human and cannot achieve all we are supposed to all of the time i.e. daily tasks or mission tasking. So, now after identifying this I will in the future keep this in mind to help me overcome it when it does cross my path again. After reviewing all this information regarding my lens and values I get the feeling that I am really role orientated. This sounds to be reasonable and something I believe is a direct result from my time in the military. An enlistee is taught the core values and that person learns to eat, breathe and sleep these values.…

The ethical lens inventory exercise is very useful and something that I have lost sight of over the years. I was first introduced to this concept when I first applied for a sales position over a decade ago. After completing the exercise, the results of my answers places me in the Rights and Responsibility Lens. Since no one is perfect, having blind spots is inevitable, my blind spot as a result of my answers states that "belief that motive justifies method." My strengths are reason and self knowledge, whereas my weakness is becoming judgmental and legalistic.…

Based on my Ethics Awareness Profile results, my Ethical Profile is most closely aligned with the character while least closely aligned with the equity. My ethical perspective is leaning towards on what it is good to be rather than what it is good to do. I believe that ethics should focus on ways to help people achieve moral excellence. When asked to judge whether an individual’s actions are ethical, I look beyond the actions to examine the individual’s character. Uprightness and integrity are key factors in my assessment. I look for evidence of virtue in people, including such traits as honor, justice, and benevolence, believing that a virtue is not just an abstract principle. Rather, virtue is reflected in the quality of an individual’s character, and character is more important than an individual’s actions. In my opinion, mere compliance with rules, no matter how well intentioned, does not make anyone an ethical person without being accompanied by consistent voluntary striving to be a morally good person.…

The Ethic Awareness Inventory at the University of Phoenix was created to assist its students with their development of a deeper understanding of what their personal ethical perspective and style is. The online survey enables students to learn more about their Character, Obligation, Results, and Equity (CORE). According to the Ethics Awareness Inventory my ethical perspective is most likely to be based on obligation, and least likely to be based on equity. In this paper, I will describe the results of this inventory to my personal and professional development. The table below shows the results of my Ethic Awareness Inventory.…
