If you were to ask a Roman Catholic on their views, they would all be against the idea. They believe marriage to be a holy sacrament that should never be broken. If a Catholic were to get divorced, they would find it tremendously hard to remarry in another Catholic Church. They would also believe to get divorced you have to marry, which means breaking your sacrament to God and to one and other and the words you said in your vows are not pure.
On the other hand, some Liberal Christians would accept the idea of a divorce if a person in a relationship was being abused or he/she had committed adultery. In the New Testament Jesus says it is OK to divorce. “But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” They may also feel that because of the Ten Commandments were it states “do not commit adultery” that if someone in the relationship has committed adultery is then has Jesus’ blessing to Divorce.
