If any office should fail in their duties and disobey ethics and integrity it should be up to the police chief and/or county sheriff to reprimand the officer suspend or fire the officer. Police Professionalism requires that today’s law enforcement officers adhere to ethical codes and standards established by the profession. Police professionalism places important limits on the discretionary activities of individual enforcement personnel and helps officers and the departments they work for gain the respect and regard of the public they police. Law enforcement knows the laws to become officers to protect society therefore they need to practice ethics and morality while on duty as well in their personal lives.
