Online learning is more flexible than on-ground learning. Flexible learning is a set of educational philosophies and systems, concerned with providing learners with increased choice, convenience, and personalization to suit their particular learning need. In particular, flexible learning provides learners with choices about where, when, and how learning occurs. Flexible learning puts you, the learner, in primary control. On campus learning allows students to interact face-to-face with students and teachers. Students are able to participate in social interactions that aren’t available to online students. The disadvantages of online learning are plentiful. Students have to conscious of the fact that there is much more reading involved than in a traditional classroom setting because they tend to be text-based forms of instruction. This may be preferable to some students, but it must be recognized that students have different learning styles. Campus-based education is much more costly than online learning, which is a big disadvantage for many college pursuers. An Online College it costs about $495 a unit, while an on-ground college it costs about $990- $1190 per unit. According to the Fidelity survey, while two-thirds (66 percent) of the Class of 2011 who are graduating with debt say the value of college is worth the cost, one-quarter (25 percent) say they would have made different choices if they had thought more about potential future debt.
