“Every child is special”
Ishaan Awasthi is not an ordinary student. He has a very wild and creative imagination that brings him to different worlds, to worlds unknown to his classmates, teachers and family. He usually plays and does things on his own, he has his own special perception on things. Though his talent in painting and creativity is exceptional, he is just like every other kid, he loves to play and goof around. But the problem was, he cannot not cope with school the way other kids does. He has repeated the third grade, and still he did not show any improvement. He fails to read and write properly that’s why he was unable to pass his subjects. At the same time, he cannot attend to himself; buttoning his shirt or tying his shoe lace. A kid at the age of 9 is capable of all those things, unfortunately for Ishaan he is not, because he suffered from dyslexia.
Unaware of the boy’s real problem, his parents as well as his teachers thought he was purposely failing his subjects because he was uninterested in class and he does not pay in his studies. They assumed that he needs to be disciplined in order to learn, thus, sending him to a boarding school. They found it hard to deal with Ishaan and his behavior; his teachers would always get angry at him and scold him, because his head was always in the clouds during classes, so he ends up standing outside the room. Though his mother monitored him all the time and taught him his lessons, he was still unable to learn them but what was important was that she has shown her love and care for the kid, something his father has not directly given him. Although his older brother is Ishaan’s exact opposite; smart, obedient, neat and pleasant to everyone, they got along well and he always supports Ishaan. But despite all that, they still did not help Ishaan overcome his problem, and worst was, when he was thrown to boarding school, he became very lonely. Until this new teacher, found out
