Whenever someone becomes trapped, stuck in a crevice, or buried under snow, a helicopter and a crew come to rescue them. The fuel in the helicopter, the salaries of the crew, it all costs money. And where does a bigger amount of that money come from? The taxpayers. And, yes, it’s tolerable to spend a little extra money to save someone’s life, but that money could be used for something or someone else. In particular, a sick child who didn’t choose to have their life be put in danger, unlike the people who choose to climb Mount Everest. Anyone on that mountain chose to take the chance of death, and it’s their fault they become put into danger on said mountain. As you can see, the costs are another reason I believe that Mount Everest should be closed
