Everyone Should Be Paid For Employees
I was a junior in high school when I realized that a girl who seemed extremely genuine was actually extremely mischievous. We were not great friends, but I had gotten to know her very well. As classmates and coworkers I had spent an abundance of time with her and thought she had good intentions and was a hard worker.

As time went on I noticed she was doing something that that was absolutely not acceptable. After working many shifts with her I realized that she would make many drinks and sandwiches while working, but would never pay for them. We have a strict rule that you must pay for your drinks before you make them to ensure that everything is being paid for. That night I asked her if she had paid for her drinks and she told me that she did right when she got to work. She was a pretty new employee at the time and was unaware that I

My boss is an extremely laid back individual , but when something like this happens you must take action. He did not have any proof of what she had done so he started scheduling her when he was also working. This allowed him to keep an eye on her and make sure she was paying. Not only did he realize that she was not paying for her things , but he also found a stack of coupons that we had out to customers in her purse. Needless to say this was the last shift that she ever worked at Scooters.

This was an extremely difficult situation for me to be in. Darien and I had been friends since the sixth grade. I did not want any drama outside of school, but this was something that could not be tolerated. My boss thanked me for stepping up and making him aware of her stealing. This was an eye opening experience for me as I truly thought she was a genuine person. After experiencing this I am very cautious and make sure that each individual that we hire understands the importance of paying for their

When I started my first job in an eye clinic, I was hired to work the front desk of the main office along with three other ladies. I was the youngest at 22 , one gal was about 5 years older than myself, and the other two were in their early 60's. One of the older ladies had worked there a significant amount of time while the other two and myself were hired at the same time. There was an initial friction between one of the older ladies and my younger co-worker and myself. We thought she was bossy and tried to micro-manage us even though she was not in a supervisory position. She also would try and tell us how the older patients liked to be spoken to. After a while, management stepped in to try and mediate the conflict. As it turned out, my bossy co-worker was simply taught her work ethic and interpersonal skills in a different era. She felt more senior than my co-worker and I because she was older, with more life experience. She also thought that being from an older generation herself, that she knew how to communicate better with our patients. We were all trying to help our patients, do our jobs well, and effectively communicate, but our different backgrounds and significant difference in age, were creating an interpersonal conflict.…

In this situation I would tell the cashier I was given too much money. I typically look at my change before leaving the counter and in this case it would be immediately obvious that I had received too much. When I was a teenager I worked in a cash register environment and I know people can lose their jobs over having a short register. It was an honest mistake made by the cashier and I wouldn’t want anyone to lose their job. If I can prevent that from happening, I will gladly speak up and give the money back. In my personal value system, I typically live by the “golden rule”. If the situation was reversed I would want someone to tell me if I had overpaid. I also value my integrity and I would feel guilty if I knew I had received too much money and walked out of the store without saying anything.…

Should humans receive incentives for charitable acts? This question has been controversial over the last few years. Many people have seen an issue with this, believing that receiving incentives could send a morally wrong message but is that the case for everyone? I believe that wrongdoings sends a morally wrong message and not helping out the less fortunate is as much as a wrongdoing as not helping your fellow brethren. Helping others is good for one's own soul and others as well; it gives us a sense of hope and belonging. Whether it's to fulfill one's own selfish needs or to truly help out others; the motive doesn't matter because the outcome is always the same. People should be for receiving incentives because the gains outweigh the losses.…

When I was in high school, I worked at my small town pizza parlor, called ‘Jake’s Pizza’. I had worked there for over two years when I encountered a very unmoral act committed by one of my fellow employees. It was a typical day; I showed up for work and I was making pizzas when the rush hour began. We got swamped, unusually quickly, and most of our orders were deliveries. However, we only had one delivery driver on hand at that time, so the problem was not that we were busy but rather that we could not get our deliveries to our customers in a timely fashion. We began to receive complaints that the deliveries took…

They then disappeared from the cameras and reappeared after sometime with nothing in hand at our clothe iale which is where people try to steal stuff all the time, but are stopped by the ink tags we put on them. They tried and tried but to no avail and looked defeated as they walked to the front of the store, my manager Daniel, noticed that they were acting suspicious and started to follow them it was like watching a game of cat and mouse. Daniel had to keep his distance, because for Dollar General employees to do anything we have to catch them in the act. He then followed them to the back left corner of the store where the cleaning supplies are,and they were trying to steal some blue dawn dish soap and Daniel stopped them by walking close to them. Form the office I didn’t hear Daniel say a word, He just gave them a stern look and they put it back on the shelf with the animal toys which was behind them. Daniel didn’t put it back because he had to follow them out of the front door to make sure they weren’t taking any more of our merchandise. When all three of them walked outside the older teenager gave the younger one a cigarette (we can’t sell the older one cigarette anymore Because it is illegal and we can lose our licence to sell tobacco products.). Employee theft is a problem of considerable size for many companies. Many corporate security experts estimate that 25 to 40 percent of all employees steal from their employers, and the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) estimates that employee theft of cash, property, and merchandise may cost American businesses as much as $50 billion on an annual basis. It is also not uncommon in today's workplaces. And it is often the employee you least suspect that is the culprit…

There was no type of ethical standards that the employees were living by when they committed this action by reporting alcohol spills that never really occurred to begin with so that they could provide free drinks to whomever they pleased. I do feel that the “Entitlement Mentality” was at work here with some of the employees. The employees were required to report any and all alcohol spillage during the shift they worked. By making them even report any spills I believe some of the employees felt entitled to be able to report drinks given away as spills (since it was a natural occurrence that could have really happened and was something that the managers trusted the employees to report but didn’t really closely monitor).…
