Education Philosophy
I believe that school should be a place where students willingly go and ask questions; not only of their teachers, but their peers and most importantly themselves. It is easy enough to be in school and achieve what your parents and teachers expect with little thought as to how you are going to use it. I want students to complete their schooling with a profound sense of ease, based on the confidence that they have a plan and have chosen a path with assistance from the multitude of voices within their school; a well of wisdom and experience.
Students should be instilled with a sense of curiosity and creativity in their learning so that they may not be restricted only to what is taught in class but also to what they can discover on their own. Thus education should be informative but also adventurous, challenging but enjoyable. I wish students to feel proud of themselves when they progress where they have struggled as this is a form of self-empowerment.
To do this, teachers need to be role models of learning, capable of equipping and guiding students. I am open to the voices of the class and have dialogues with them in order to understand what interests them and how they can be encouraged. …show more content…
This is very important as students are expected to behave in a mature and dignified manner but to do this they need to know what their responsibilities are and the consequences of not fulfilling these duties. As a community within the school we are obliged to look after each other but be clear and firm when we make a decision.
