There are many different feelings about being alone.. These are three very different excerpts by Lillian Morrison, about people who have felt being alone in three completely different ways. There are similarities and differences in the way the characters view being alone. First, In “ The Sidewalk Racer”, the person is happy to be alone. He/she says, “ I am the one, the only single engine”. He/she is excited to be alone, and proud he/she can do things on his/her own.
