Benjamin Franklin aphorism is proven to be true because I have seen this in my personal life. For instance; my sister always said that she would “travel the world someday”. She would always tell us where she wanted to go but never had a valid plan or followed through with anything she said she would do and as a result we never believed her. It wasn't until a couple of years ago when she studied abroad in England and is currently living in China. When someone is frequently telling you what they are going to do, but fail to do so, you begin to lose trust in them or even consider what they voice anymore. This proves that a statement can't compare to the amount of success an action gets. In addition, people promise each other to “have and to hold...for
better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness, and in health,” when they express their vows on their wedding day. If words mean more than actions, then why has the divorce rate increased? If you verbally express yourself or promise something, then break that promise or don't uphold what you said, then it just proves that a physical response is more considerate than words. All in all, I take into deliberation of what my sister has followed through with and how the divorce (better known as a breaking of a promise) is more common then a successful marriage, when I validate that actions scream and words are just a whisper.
