She did this for the reason of her favor towards Odysseus and he wants for him to succeed and return home safely. This event can be compared to the Torah when Gods angels disguise themselves as human beings in order to convey messages from God to someone. For example, when God sent an angel to Lot to warn him that the destruction of Sedom is near and he must flee the city with his family immediately. (ENTER QUOTE AND CITATION). These two events connect to each other because a strong/influential being in this case God and a Greek Godyss disguised themselves for the benefit of a mortal human being.
Another way the Torah and The Odyssey can be proven to be closely related by the theme Disguise and deception is when Athena ( A Greek Godyss) disguised Odysseus to look like a beggar when he returned home from war. He did this in order to trap the suitors living in his house. When they saw a poor weak looking man they treated him very poorly and this proved to Odysseus that he must take drastic measures upon them for disrespecting himself, his family, and his household and in order to do so he must kill them
