Examples Of Dramatic Monologue Cinderellas
My wife, Tessie was in the midst of of people who were trying to kill her. I felt so disconsolate! I was in the house, trying to forget what had happened, but I could still hear her blood-curdling screams for help in my mind. “Papa, Papa! We smell something very egregious in the backyard!” opined the children. “Yes, I know children, I hate to say it but, your mother has passed away. Her corpse is buried in the backyard,” I elucidated in a subdued tone. When I was trying to calm everyone down, Billy Jr. walked to a corner and started to vociferate. All of my children then took a decision, and that was to get me a new wife. My children and I observed for all the exquisite maidens in the town.

We found a maiden who lived in a colossal house.

In Pierre Berton’s ‘Vimy’, the reader is taken on an adventure following multiple Canadian soldiers who bravely fought in world war one. It is tough for any author to capture the real horrors of war, but in his non-fiction historical masterpiece, Canadian author and historian, Pierre Berton, does an excellent attempt to do just that. With accurate quotes and images it feels as if you have ventured across the cold Atlantic ocean, just as young Canadians did almost one hundred years ago. In 1914 Britain joined a war that had already had its first battles, primarily between the German and the French. Because Canada was under the rule of the king and not its own country (yet), she automatically joined on the side of Britain. When this happened, there was much commotion in Canadian streets. “All Across Canada from Toronto to Quebec and Calgary to Vancouver, men were rushing to enlist.” (Berton 17) Many were turned down. Some because they were too unfit some because they wore glasses and some because they were too small. But the most popular reason was because the boys were too young. The legal age to enlist in Canada is eighteen but it was not uncommon for boys who were only seventeen or even younger to lie about their age. Boys were over the moon to get out of school early, some quitting after just grade ten. It was the thing to do back then. Like modern commercials we see on television where marketers use advertising techniques like bandwagoning, young boys were anxious to be in the army and more importantly, not to be left out. These events demonstrate the first theme present in the first half of the book- patriotism. Or in this case, false patriotism, because these boys, now soldiers, were very mislead. They thought of war as heroic cavalry charges and sieges that would go down in history, but once they arrived in France they quickly realized otherwise. Patriotism is evident throughout this book, but mostly during the chapters concerning the Canadians. Pierre Berton…

The life of people during the Great Depression was poverty stricken, jobless, and too many it was hopeless. Life during this time was portrayed very well in the movie “Cinderella Man.” James Braddock is a perfect example of life during this time. He was as poor as the movie displayed him to be and he did have to go receive relief money from the government to heat his house and keep his children. “His Irish-Catholic back round played a major role in the values he held onto, specifically the one of family.” He repaid the relief money as soon as he was able to afford to, in both the movie and real life. James Braddock also fought and worked with a broken hand, just like the movie displayed. “Jim gets an out-of-the-blue, last ditch shot to fight in Madison Square Garden- and more importantly, a chance to put food on the table for those he loves. (The Movie 1)” The two days notice about the fight Braddock received in the movie was accurate to reality. James went back into fighting to feed and keep his family together.…

In the movie "Cinderella," Cinderella is a maid to an evil stepmother and two very heartless and obnoxious stepsisters. The only reason that Cinderella still puts up with their orders is an example of the Behavioral perspective. The Behavioral Perspective puts emphasis on learning by experience with rewards and punishments. She knows that if she does not do the chores, she will be punished or thrown out of the household. She does not have anywhere to go because her mother and father have passed away. Because Cinderella is a genuinely kind human being who wishes to please, she usually does not stick up for herself against the others in the household. She is used to taking on the brunt of the housework and doesn't complain of her unfair and lowly position as maid of her own house.…

The Roman Republic ruled 2,045 years ago, but like the United States it had its own form of democracy. “Demo” means people and “cracy” means government so democracy means a government for the people. In Rome the government wasn’t perfect, but it still allowed the people some freedom and gave them certain rights to government affairs. The Roman Republic was, however, more democratic than not because one part of the government was made up of lower class citizens, people could vote, and the citizens were allowed to legislate. Similar to the United States, there were three branches of the government one of which was made up of lower class citizens called Plebeians allowing normal citizens to vote.…

CRASH. SCREEECH-BANG! Many protesting and angry yells went up into the pale NYC morning sky, caused by what looked like a small, red, and motorized wagon. It looked like this because that was exactly what it was. This “Motor-wagon” was piloted by a young-ish, tall-ish, and mostly bald man named Evan Victor Ite-Laught.…

My father trotted up to the dart game, like he was a big shot. I requested if I could play at least once. He said “sure thing.” As I walked up to the stand with the dart already on the table, I thought I was ready to throw it at the rubbery balloon. I closed my dark brown eyes and squinted very tight at the only balloon I wanted.…

Everyone knows the story of Cinderella, the girl who finds her prince with the help of a magical fairy god-mother, transforming her previously horrible life to a fabulous depiction of every little girls dream. Generations of children around the world have heard the story Cinderella countless times, however most people are unaware of the multiple versions of this legend. The European version of Cinderella ,“Aschenputtel” written by the Grimm Brothers consists of the female protagonist being treated as a servant, yet somehow manages to leave her cruel family behind for her Prince whom she lives happily ever after with. Another version of Cinderella is the Native American tale “The Algonquin Cinderella”, where the female protagonist is also mistreated by her family, however she is fortunate enough to “find” her own prince in her village. Although both stories present similar morals, both vary in details such as characters, settings, and use of magic.…

It was a surprisingly warm night during the summer. Everyone in the house was sound asleep in their rooms except for me. I was watching a show on the laptop in my room when out of nowhere I hear a bone chilling scream from the neighbor’s house next door. Before I knew it I was out of bed putting on my shoes to see what was happening. When I opened the front door I saw a bunch of other neighbors turning on porch lights to see what was going on too. What I saw next I could never un-see, it was the sweet old man that lived next door crouching over his blood stained wife. The problem with this image though is what he didn’t do. He wasn’t crying over her body in sorrow, nor was he standing in shock, instead his face was covered in blood and…
