Walking through your home, getting ready for work, everything is not as it is use to be after that day. That day, also known as 9/11, everyone lost a certain part of themselves. Their days became darker, painful, and hopeless. How were they able to overcome such pain of losing a loved one or actually going through it themselves? Three qualities one should have when going through this type of trauma includes not isolating oneself, getting more active, and knowing how to self-regulate. First, isolating oneself from the world is a one-way ticket to a land of pure depression. Although it is common want to withdraw from others, one should try connecting face to face.
