Most of the maids were loyal to Odysseus, but there were a few that would talk about him and his family behind their backs.
Once Penelope heard what the maid had said about Odysseus she was fuming with anger.
“‘Make no mistake, you brazen, shameless bitch, None of your ugly work escapes me either- you will pay for it with your life, you will! How well you knew-you heard from my own lips- that I ,meant to probe this stranger in our house and ask about my husband… my heart breaks for him’”(19.99-104).
This shows how much she cared for him and would protect his name. So she could never say anything bad about Odysseus if she worked so hard to protect his memory while he was lost.
In The Odyssey, Penelope showed her loyalty to her husband multiple times throughout the epic poem. In conclusion Penelope was faithful to Odysseus throughout The Odyssey, because she never gave in to the suitors courting, she never truly gave up hope, and finally she stood up for her husband when he was gone. The loyalty Penelope displayed in The Odyssey can be displayed in lives now days as well. Weather it is being loyal to your family or a friend, being faithful is always a good quality to
