Examples Of Personal Integrity
Personal Integrity vs Survival is a complex dilemma that hopefully you won't have to face in your lifetime. However, if you do encounter this you will have to make a choice based on what you believe is more important. No matter which one you chose their will be consequences that you will have to face. I believe that you should stand up for your beliefs and chose personal integrity over survival because “I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees”. An example of Personal integrity vs survival is found in “The Crucible” when John Proctor stood up for what he believed even though the consequence was death. John stood up to the courts and called out Abigail for lying. He also admitted to his affair with Abigail and that's why his wife Elizabeth kicked him out of the house. He admitted this even though he knew it would ruin his reputation. When John was arrested he was offered freedom if he would sign his name admitting he saw spirits and the devil. John almost signed his name, but he couldn't morally come to it because it …show more content…
The way he went about handling it wasn't good and bullied people and made it you were “either with him or against him.” So Edward Murrow stood up to him which was a good thing for America. In the segment, Murrow uses McCarthy’s own statements to paint a picture of McCarthy to make him seem like a bad man. Then McCarty went after Murrow and tried to make him seem like an awful man because he attacked his character and integrity. All these examples listed above were a different scenario but had the same message. Standing up for what they believe in and encountering consequences some more severe than others. In conclusion, I would have to say standing up for what you believe in is better than being a coward because at the end of the day you wanna die with dignity and peace within

McCarthy‘s main idea was that many people were being disloyal to our country in the political areas of America, by this he means that many people in the government were seeking out communism or supported it which is not someone who is being honest or loyal to our country. Not only this, but he put down President Truman and the democratic party, the problem McCarthy faced after making these accusations, is that he had no liable evidence of any of this being true. As for President Truman‘s response he basically calls McCarthy a pathological lair, and you can also tell that Truman is trying to be respectful, but you can also tell that he is irritated with McCarthy. Another thing I seemed to notice was that he kept it simple and sweet. Truman had…

In higher order thinking animals such as us humans, confronting a challenging conflict requires elaborate cognitive thought processes. “He is credited with making broadcasting journalism respectable, courageous, and sincere” (Washington para 1). This shows what kind of person and journalist Edward was; he willingly risked his life so our nation could know what was happening in the world. He strived for honesty in news reporting and had a desire to educate the world of current events. In 1951 Murrow created a documentary news series called See It Now. The show featured many controversial issues in the 50’s but it is widely remembered for criticizing the Red Scare and contributing to the downfall of Senator Joseph McCarthy. As I move into and through late adulthood, I expect to have a sense of ego integrity. Being satisfied the past decisions I have made; whether it was in the work force, the friends I've kept and made, the way I live my life, the way I have raised my children, and brushed any hardships off my shoulder makes me more likely to have a sense of integrity. The decisions I have made currently and in my virtual past to cope differently with negative experiences are, calling my life long friends, Alex and Sarah, who have always been there for me no matter what the situation was regarding; they always knew what to say. Also, keeping myself busy. For instance, going out for a walk to get some fresh air, doing yoga, and gardening; which I enjoy doing.…
