One way cassie showed courage is when she stood up for little man on the first day of school. He wanted to be neat and organized at school, but the books they got were old and torn. When he confirmed this to the teacher, she got mad and ordered him to the whipping chair, Cassie stepped in and said “Miz Crocker, don’t, please!”. Then she said “See, Miz Crocker, see what it says.
