As you know Buck eventually challenges spitz; the leader of the dog sleigh team for his position. Of course being optimistic Buck overcomes Spitz and “removes” him from his position, and Buck takes over as leader. Buck unknowingly takes on the Responsibility of the keeping his team safe from the cold harsh Yukon wilderness. The next character I shall cover is my grandfather. Just as Buck dispatched Spitz from the scene, although not nearly as violent my Grandfather took on the task of being manager of business. I find this topic extremely crucial to my compare and contrast because of what they did and what they took on by their on free will. They held the trust or responsibility of others and carried, motivated and commanded the team or business. Another comparison between Buck and my Grandfather would be there experiences of learning. Although both ways of learning may not be the same they learned how to be responsible and/or survive. When my Grandfather was learning how to take supervise people and learn trade Buck was learning how to survive by obeying the law of the club and fang.
