Passion is something that drives you and the people around you every day. You might be passionate about school or your family or sports. You look at successful companies and organizations, like Apple or Microsoft, and see the reason they are so successful because they all have a passion for what they do, and the people they cater to are passionate about it too. Soccer is an amazing thing that people don't realise can change people's lives. Soccer influences so many people in the world, and it is something that people are very passionate about. It has made players play well because they want to impress and they want people to look up to them. Originally, soccer players would earn about as much as a GP or senior manager in England, which is around 75,000 euros a year. Now an average Premier League player would earn that in a week (The Telegraph 1). Since the players are earning a month what most people earn in a year, some of them start to get money crazy. When this happens, they will throw fits and stop playing for their club just because they want to be transferred to another club for the money which is very sad. What they are doing is basically letting down their fans and their club, and just chasing money. Chasing money is a dangerous thing and it will only give you temporary satisfaction.
Something else that is corrupt in soccer is the cheating. Cheating is a big thing now in soccer. Players are getting caught taking medicines like caffeine pills that help stay awake and stay focused. Pills like these are banned by the Football Association because they give the players using it an unfair advantage (Wallace 1). There have been numerous accounts of people taking pills that help them play better, but there has also been worse especially recently.
Players have also been caught with doing drugs and other things that just won't help them in the long run. It’s sad when a player someone loves is arrested for drug abuse or the team suffers because they were the best player on the team, but at the end of the day they are just humans that make human choices which are not always
