Physical Benefits: - Physical inactivity is a major risk for developing coronary artery disease. It also contributes to other risk factors including obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. Some physical activities build muscular strength while others increase endurance. Some forms of physical activities involve using the large muscles in your arms or legs. These are called endurance or aerobic exercises. These activities help the heart by making it work more efficiently during exercise and at rest. Other physical benefits can include:- An increase in muscle strength, an increase in joint mobility, an increase in appetite, the normalisation of sleep patterns, the lowering of blood pressure, an increase in lung capacity (how big a breath can be taken), an increased ability to carry out tasks of daily living.…

Why are pregnant women always complaining? The simple answer is that a pregnant woman’s body is always changing. When this is said, many think of the physical changes that one can see or feel. However, even though these physical changes are important, the true question is what causes these physical changes? Physical changes to a pregnant women’s body are the result of physiological changes. What is a physiological change? To understand what this kind of change is, the term physiology must be understood. Physiology is “the branch of biology dealing with the functions and activities of living organisms and their parts, including all physical and chemical processes” (Dictionary). I came across some good advice and tips that could be useful for any mommy-to-be to use daily! Take a Walk If your feet aren't too swollen, taking a walk once a day can help keep the body fit and keep blood flowing. Just make sure to bring water so that you don't get dehydrated. Try to wear clothing that won't get too uncomfortable, and wear well-fitting and comfortable walking shoes. Pregnancy Yoga One of the biggest pregnancy trends ever is pregnancy yoga. It's a mental and physical exercise all in one, which is why it is so important. Doing yoga will help keep stress levels down, while helping the body stay in shape as much as possible. A friend that recommended yoga swears that the exercise helped her labor go more smoothly, so that is only a plus! Catch Plenty of ZZZ'S Sleep is important to one's physical health whether they or pregnant or not. Getting good rest will keep the body energized and rejuvenated. Don't Go Hungry A healthy diet will keep unnecessary fat away while still providing plenty of nutrition for mom and baby! I've always been told that a steady, healthy diet is the best way to keep metabolism in check, so it only makes sense to stick to it during pregnancy! Stay Hydrated Water cleanses the body and is key to keeping metabolism and energy high. Just like sleeping, it's a life necessity whether you are…
