Exotic Animals

Having a pet is a thrill in its own,but having an exotic pet can be even more thrilling. Many say that having a exoctic pet is okay while, others say that it is dangerous and cruel. Having an exoctic animal such as, a Lion as a pet can in fact be dangerous. The reality is that there's dangers that come with owning an exoctic pet, the animals will eventually grow up, and the resources to own a exoctic pet are expensive and hard to have. Exotic animals should not be allowed as pets. There are many possible dangers that come with having a exotic pet. Even though you are calling the animal a “pet” doesn’t necessarily mean that it is domesticated. An animal becoming domesticated takes thousands of years to become domesticated. An exotic pet is still wild, that poses a danger, the “pet” is not predictable. In the article, Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger it says,” While it is true that even dogs and cats can injure their owners or other people, they do not have the same unpredictable potential for serious or even deadly attacks that many exoctic pets do”(Lewis). Some may say, that a dog or cat is going to grow up too. This is true ,but a dog or cat growing up is not as dangerous as a lion or tiger growing in size and strength. As the animal grows it is more likely to hurt someone unintentionally (Lewis). Those may not seem like large numbers but it is still deaths. It is still another danger posed by housing an exotic pet.
