Child protection is all about safeguarding children and promoting their welfare and development. It was put into place to protect those children suffering from any kind of abuse. It could also include following the school policies and procedures, this could contain regularly having a fire drill to ensure children know what to do if a real fire does happen, as well as health and safety of the children at the setting. Also by encouraging learning and development of children and young people within the work place setting. All staff at the setting have a responsibility to safeguard children and young people during the time they spend in school or nursery. You can also protect children by not allowing visitors into the setting without a CRB check.
