The Egyptians created a hierarchical system which determined how much respect they received. The bottom began with slaves and farmers, it then ascended to the Pharaoh who was mostly appreciated.
The Egyptians believed that the Pharaoh was a God and had power over everyone. The Pharaoh had the responsibility to create laws and keep order Making sure that Egypt wasn’t invaded by others and for keeping the other Gods pleased so the Nile flooded and there would be a rich harvest. Monuments

Nobles had the priority of the land of Egypt. They had a responsibility of creating local laws and sustaining them and ensuring that there was no theft or invaders on the lands. Nobles were paid cattle or crops for their help. Nobles had a great deal to do with keeping society safe in Egypt.
Priests had the responsibility of keeping the gods happy.
They didn’t have to preach but spent their time performing rituals and ceremonies. They prayed also to keep the citizens calm, knowing that the gods were happy and were going to look out for them. If it weren't for the Priests the city would be very worried and probably lose it.
Scribes are the only people who can both read and write, they were also responsible for for keeping records. Ancient Egyptians recorded many things, including: how much food would be produced at their harvest, how many soldiers were in the army, number of workers and numbers of gifts that were given to the gods. Scribes were the some of the smartest and without them it would make paperwork a lot harder for the Pharaoh. They had a major role ensuring Government was under control.
Soldiers had the big responsibility of protecting Egypt. Most second sons that were born including the pharaohs son would often choose to join the army. Riches that the soldiers would find from enemies were used for themselves, they would share it around. The soldiers would also be rewarded land for their services. Soldiers were respected because if it weren’t for them they the citizens would be put in
danger.
Craftsmen would have many skills they would use to work such as - Pottery makers, leatherworkers, sculptors, painters, weavers, jewellery makers, shoemakers and tailors. Groups of craftsmen generally work together. They were responsible for making clothing and fabrics to keep citizens warm.
Farmers worked the land of the Pharaoh and nobles, in return they were given housing, food, and clothing. Some farmers rented land for a percentage of their crops. Farmers had a big responsibility of keeping food resources up, ensuring the citizens wouldn’t starve. They helped society very much with their skills to provide food.
Slaves were generally prisoners caught in a war. Slaves would be found in the Pharaoh's household, quarries, mines or even temples. Slaves were not respected in any form, although, they did help the Pharaoh very much. Without slaves buildings would have taken longer to create and progress would have been a lot slower.
The Government in Ancient Egypt was a theocracy. The people doing the Pharaohs decrees were the priests and holy people. The group formed a social class as they were given treatment before the other citizens and were a nobility in his/her own rights.
The structure of ancient egyptian government involved others, including priests, commanders of war, treasurers, the minister of public works, and tax people, all answered to the Pharaoh.
Taxation was under the government of Egypt, mostly in the way of goods. Citizens were chosen into the military when needed, or in labor to pay labour tax, depended on what needed to be done at the time.
When it came to laws, they used punishments to justify crimes. It was a religious country so right and wrong were usually defined, and doing a wrong was not just a bad idea, but it would disgrace on someones entire family. Punishments for wrong-doing were as severe as executions.
In the many of thousands year span of Egyptian history, the usual way of governing was generally the same. Things would only change in vast ways when parts of Egypt were invaded, or someone chose to run against the government. Many believe that politics, religion and the belief that the pharaoh was a God formed Egypt to be the way it is.
