Communication skills are a key part of an effective health care system. It is important for nurses to have strong communication skills because they are at the patient’s bedside the most. According to Margaret Hughes, Ray Kirk and Alison Dixon, an understanding of communication through nurses and patients can influence the outcome of a patient’s stay. (M.Hughes, R. Kirk, A. Just like any other job that involves dealing with people, nurses have conflict with each other. Often newer and younger nurses don't feel respected, disagreements on treatment, having a hard time communicating, and personality clashes can cause problems within a staff. ( E.
