Student: Ashlee Robishaw Patient Initials: AMR Current Age: 4 months

Gestational Age: 39 weeks and 6 days

Growth Parameters: Height: 24.5 in Weight: 5.5 kg

Developmental Stages: (Infant/Toddler/Ps/School age/Adolescent)

Freud: Oral Stage - infant’s main concerns are with oral gratification
• The child’s primary source of pleasure is sucking. She is currently breastfeeding and the mother has stated that the infant is able to be consoled by nursing or sucking thumb.
Erikson: Trust versus Mistrust – the infant will develop a sense of trust only if the parent or caregiver is responsive and consistent with the basic needs being meet.
• When the child is hungry the mother will nurse her. If the child needs a new diaper the parents or caregiver will change to make the child comfortable. When the child is tired or fussy they will rock child her till calm or sleeping.

Once crying has started if the parents walks by she will silence thinking that they are coming to pick her up, the crying will resume if the parent continues to walk away.
Piaget: Sensorimotor - the child experiences their world through movement and senses.
An infant will learn to coordinate sensations or reproduce an event that happened by accident.
• The mother has stated that the infant has learned to self-soothe by finding her thumb at night and going back to sleep.
Physical Development:
• While lying on tummy, lifts and holds head up
• Able to move fists from closed to open
• Able to bring hands to mouth
• Moves legs and arms off of surface when excited
• Quiets or smiles in response to sound or voice
• Turns head towards sound or voice
• Makes eye
